I gotta disagree that Blizz has had a declining reputation. WoW is such a strange thing now that it isn't really relevant anymore. I'm sure they're still making plenty of money on that, though. Also, Diablo III sold 3.5 million copies in its first 24 hours. I'd say that's a pretty positive response.
Even Activision isn't exactly a mixed bag. Sure Tony Hawk and Guitar hero are pretty much dead in the water, but that "toy/game crossover thing&...
I'm excited to see this stuff, but I probably won't be picking up the PS4 or whatever it is until after the first price drop at least, so this is still years away for me. Luckily I have a GROTESQUE backlog of games to keep me busy for at least 5 years :-(
At Launch? I doubt it. Skyward Sword only just came out, and the previous one was supposed to be a gamecube title that got pushed onto the Wii. The development cycles for Zelda games seem to be quite long for another one to pop up so soon.
I've bought or plan on buying every nintendo console that has come out (don't have a 3ds YET)but for once I think I'm going to have to pass. Maybe it'll be clear to me a few years down the line what the hell this thing is even supposed to be. For now, I just don't get it.
Valve is just the best at everything.
I can see where you might have got the impression that I was deriding the quality of their other brands. What I meant by "good brand" was a brand that was actually successful commercially and not just causing them to bleed money year after year.
I did forget their car tape deck to 3.5mm adapter. That thing ROCKS. I think it's still the only good one on the market.
I didn't say they weren't high quality. I said they were overpriced.
Sony, stop making overpriced TVs and laptops and stereos and shit. Focus on Playstation, it is your only good brand.
I don't think Apple really caused the death of the music CD. It seems like file-sharing did that. Anyway, Apple has never cared about games except for on their iOS devices. I don't see them bringing anything new or revolutionary to console or even computer gaming.
Max Payne 2 came out like 9 years ago. I'm wondering if they should have called it Max Payne: Something-Something instead.
I liked the idea of assassin's creed but I never liked how Ubisoft took so damn long to take the training wheels off. I basically stopped playing the second one because I wanted the goddamned game to just start already. I just hate playing through tutorials disguised as introductory story missions.
while this is true for AAA titles, I think that the burgeoning indie scene is breathing a lot of new life into the PC as a gaming platform. Indies will keep the PC relevant.
Man I wish I had gone to PAX this year :-(
Historical fiction still has to be based on history. Also, I think your claim that the bible has been corroborated and is accepted as a historical reference is just plain false. The burden of proof is on you, my friend.
The original article is kind of a joke. Read the old testament, God lays waste to basically everyone that gets in the way of his people. It's ridiculous. Sure, maybe the new testament is a little more touchy feely, but it's all a big storybook anyway. Who cares how flying spaghetti monster feels about shit that is actually real?
doh, double post.
i'm not a fan of this series, but this sounds good.
as developers add autonomy, the narrative suffers a little bit. It's a give and take. Some games strike a good balance and others not so much.
that would be really interesting.
