Actually i hope is it so everyone would shut up about hardware sales.
true, Ps2 is still doing great in Japan regardless of age
Top 30 has no Ps3 games in it, bet they are waiting for the price to drop.
They didn't sell Rare btw. 51% share was to the owners, the 51% got bought by Microsoft when the Stamper(i think this is their name) sold their stake in their own company.....the other 49% was owned by Nintendo who then sold their stake in the company. Microsoft would have had final say in everything since they owned more in the company
What are they full of crap for?
why shouldn't the Wii cost as much as it does...it is still selling. Why would you drop the price of a console when it is still selling?
Metacritic is overrated
They don't need to drop the price
I'd have to say "no" on that one. The ps2 was/is a great system, but the Wii has expanded the market in a completely different way than what the Ps2 achieved.
In software sales it has been lacking behind the competition. Hardware sales have been alright, considering the price point. I feel the price point is what is affecting software sales. The Ps3 has great games, just not a whole lot of them.
I dont know what to think honestly. Yea the Ps3 lacks a huge game library, but i feel if a slim, cheapper version is to come soon, it will propel sales, especially if Sony can bring Gran Turismo out before the holidays.
I will say that Ps3 figures on software has been a sore spot, not neccassarily hardware numbers like Cnet seems to be pointing out.
How is this a big deal? This game doesn't even look like it is buyable in my opinion. I'll wait for a proper TMNT beat'em up, not a Smash copy.
Ridiculous, had they never been provided at all, this wouldnt matter. Since they have been taken away from us, I say this is bullcrap.
NSMB will help hardware for sure.
I'll get the popcorn...
Have you played Resort?
You do understand that last year at this time Super Smash Bros Brawl, Mario Kart and Wii Fit were practically knew right and that was the driving force behind last years numbers?
Wii Sports Resort has only been out less than 2 weeks and Nintendo specifically said that it takes a month or so for software sales from "evergreen" titles to start affecting hardware sales.
Next month we will see the results of Wii Sports Resort's affect on hardware.
Remember though the Wii is failing....
ehh, already knew those figures due to Nintendo releasing the info.
This to everyone who thinks Nintendo needs a price cut:
“Essentially Nintendo revenues are effectively flat year-on-year, down minus 2 percent. Comparatively, the balance of the industry — so our competitors combined — is down minus 23 percent. So clearly our competitors are the ones under pressure to change their tactics through the balance of the year.” Reggie of Nintendo of America
