Agreed....price will be a huge difference. The Value Proposition argument did not work for Sony last gen and it won't work for Microsoft this gen.
For the people commenting that it is selling betteron the 360 that is true from an absolute perspective but not from a relative one. The higher performance and DLC seem to be trending towards the PS3. In the US you would expect. everything remaining equal, the 360 to outsell the PS3 about 2:1 based on the install base. That would equate to an equal attach rate. If it is higher the 360 is trending better. If, like in this case, it is lower (here it is 1.5:1) then the PS3 is trending bette...
Some people are citing NPD numbers in their comments and I just wanted to pass along some information about that. I remember hearing a developer comment on the accuracy of NPD numbers on a podcast - I think it was a 4 guys 1up podcast - saying that NPD is routinely 10% to 20% understated. This, of course, can fluctuate depending on the game so it is not always a good indicator of an individual game's performance but a great proxy or metric for the industry's performance. NPD will tell you ...
So know Sony is screwing the consumer right? MS has done the same with its peripherals for 4 years now. The companies can be considered on equal footing.
Sony won't release BC because they can make money on selling PS2's and potentially releasing upgraded collections series (which this one was asked for BTW - I voted for it as well and I own the originals).
MS won't drop the price of HDD and Wireless Adaptors because that is where they top up their revenue stre...
To reiterate dead metal heads comment.....
I hate it when you all do crappy price comparisons. The base sku for the PS3 has only dropped 40% in prices from $499 to $299 ($500 to $300). The premium sku has seen a 33% drop ($600 to $400). Also, Sony has only had 2 price drops - one in 2007 and one just this past week. They have dropped the price both times to combat faltering sales which is typical in the consumer electronics market.
Release at $500 and $600 an...
Looks like you have another winner. Are you feeling better about yourselves now? Good.
I am going back to playing it on my PS3 because I really don't care when these marginal differences are brought up. The bottom line is the game looks good on either platform.
Remember that the PS2 had worse graphics then the XBOX and it didn't matter when it came to games and gameplay.
Buy the 360 version if you prefer to play on that platform and the PS3 if t...
I have been waiting for this argument since they announced these motion controller visions.
"And how is it not the far better system ?
It can interact with far more objects on the screen, got more depth sense, can sense emotions of the player, got a build in infrared and a normal color camera, got voice recognition.
Its specs are beyond that of the pseye, and better specs = better system."
Are you now willing to admit that the P...
they way I understand it is the retail disc release will only have the two episodes and not GTA 4. If you want another GTA 4 I am afraid you will have to buy another one.
In case you are wondering if this is a hoax I don't think it is. Here is a google search and many big sites are reporting this.

When I first saw the title I said WTF!!! But then I thought that this is great and can't wait to see what RS does with it. Really happy to see the retail version as well because I bought the ...
The article says if you buy the DLC you will need a copy of GTA 4 on 360. Just like Lost and Damned
If you buy the episodes disc which has both DLC's on it you do not need GTA 4 as you can play off of the disc.
Sounds like it will be either of the following:
1. Metal Gear Solid Existence (Expanded version of MGS4 like subsistence was)
2. MGS5
My thought is that with Microsoft's tendency to steal 3rd party exclusives we could see activity on the 360 regarding this. If it is MGS5 I am assuming the best MS could hope for is a day and date release. If it is Existence then all that means is MGS4 was a timed exclusive which is what is happening with all 3rd party gam...
I am glad to see that most of you are seeing what this really means. To use buzzwords Sony is simply "rationalizing their supply chain". Almost all major companies have done forms of this and some have completely overhauled their supply chain to drive out wasted costs. This could include things such as strategic outsourcing, e-procurement and strategic sourcing, which is probably what they are talking about here (I didn't read the article).
The thought goes like th...
.....as unstable as your posts
Do you have any real evidence of this or is this just your opinion.
Let me answer truthfully for you. "My only evidence is other N4G articles and unprovable hearsay from gaming websites that have conducted no real or substantiated testing/research, so of course what I have said should be taken as gospel."
Now copy and paste the above in a reply. Actually don't....I won't read it anyway.
You must be the most unlucky PS3 owner I have ever seen. Not much seems to go right for you on that console while so many others are doing ok with it.
On the other hand, your 360 is doing well (judging from most of your posts) while most others are having problems for various reasons.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.........does anyone think we should be skeptical anytime whydis posts something.
Truth be told, if your controller messed up that's sad to hear. But y...
This Gen (US Only)NPD (HD Consoles Only)
360 - 14.5M
PS3 - 7.3M
MS Share - 66.5%
PS3 Share - 33.5%
Feb NPD
MS - 391k
PS3 - 276k
MS Feb Share - 58.6%
PS3 Feb Share - 41.4%
They are in fact losing market share. Although the delta is not enough for the PS3 to overcome the number of 360s in the short term every every month like this means the total PS3 market in the US is going u...
The symbol they show in the video is similar to a letter in the Greek alphabet that is conguous with X in the English alphabet. The letter makes a sound like Xi and is named that way as well. Check out the Wikipedia page if you don't believe me. So based on that it could mean nothing at all.

I am a Sony Fan but I have ME on 360 and loved it and even if ME2 was multiplat I would buy it on the 360 because of that.
Anyone notice that the title does not represent what the article states. The articles only confirms that ME2 is coming to 360 and PC. It does not say that ME2 is not coming to PS3. Truth be told I doubt it makes it to PS3 but could we please have more accurate titles such as:
ME2 Confirmed for 360, PC
P.S. - As a Sony Fan I ...
I see you copied your post from the gamerzone here. It didn't work there and it won't here.
I haven't taken any of your bubbles...I don't like doing that and neither of us are acting too fanboyish so a bubble war is not warranted. I accept your analysis and cannot completely refute it because I don't have insider financial information either. I just don't think a $25 per game business model is sustainable and so many games sell so few copies. If you look at the sales charts only a small percentage (other than nintendo games) sell like crazy and that would lead me to believe that ...
A lot of you have been saying either Sony or MS are lying. The truth is Sony sold more in total. MS sold more on average.
E.g.
Sony 1.5M in 15 days (15th to 30th) = 100,000 per day
MS 909,000 in 9 days (22nd to 30th) = 101,000 per day
In this example Sony sold more but MS sold more on average. MS is playing a game so they can say fastest selling. Most of the 909,000 were sold on day 1. They did not and are not selling 101,000 per day. If...
