i think at least on the PS4 side, as i dont have an xbox but i know they have the feature, is the ability to Share experiences while playing online, let it be through screenshots, recorded video or streaming to Twitch/youtube ect. and to add to that on PS side, the Share Play was a generous feature that has sucked a few hundred dollars from me after playing the game on a friends ps4 half way across the world.
