It's not like this is the only gampetype MG will become, I doubt Kojima will let them forever change the Metal Gear name as you fear. While Kojima not having a part in the game can be a bad thing, I view it as a good thing because Kojima still has his own gameplay style.
The only thing 'm worried about is the story.
There's a couple reasons why I disagree with you.
First of all the Metal Gear series released on the MSX (I think, I just know it was on PC first) and Metal Gear Solid released on the PsOne. The MGS series is a Playstation series at heart because while a couple games were on Nintendo and one or two were on the xbox, ALL were released on a Playstation device.
Secondly most people on N4G probably started gaming this gen or late last gen, and I know many people who haven'...
And this game is really looking awesome, while it's not a true MGS in gameplay (hopefully story though)
I think this game will sell better than MGS4 just because it is more action oriented, while the MGS fans won't all get it, more people from outside of the series will check it out.

Wait what? Maybe those people should be focusing on things that don't waste their time like video games, and maybe they will become a second world country. Besides, I really doubt that those kids care about video games. Back when my family was poor I got one game a year for my Genesis and that made me love those games. If I got every game I wanted the personal value would have dropped. And, I didn't feel bad when every one else got what ever they wanted.

The ace combat series was one of the few games that I absolutely loved in my childhood. I was completely devastated to hear AC6 went to 360 a couple months after I got the ps3.

I'm guessing Bioware will eventually release ME 1 on PS3 sometime before 3. ME2 is still being talked about and still has DLC being made, so I'm thinking that they're guessing that ME2 would sell more than if ME1 came out first. Maybe they will sell a trilogy pack or something for people who haven't played any.
