in fact, it looks great. I hate games where the game is playing against YOU, and not your side. Imagine playing warhawk online, and everyone from the other side is ignoring the 15 others on your team, and focusing on you. That would be horrible. nVidia has a hand in this decision to launch 11 so early. As right now they refused 10.1 and now will look like the future by supporting 10.2..er..i mean, "11". LOL. nVidia + MS + intel = shady for the moment.
GL to be faster at rendering the same number of triangles (compared to DX 9), easier to use, and offered more freedom. I HATED programming using DX. Its just lame. OGL FTW.
there are hardly any DX10 games yet. It now takes longer for a dev team to make a game than it does MS to redo their API. I say the game dev's stop the BS and go back to OpenGL. At least in OGL, XYZ makes sence...dang.
was the only windows i ever had that never gave me a BSOD and ran flawlessly. Apparently, nobody shared my experience...i guess it was my awesome combo of hardware: Athlon 1GHZ, 512SDRAM, GeForceMX440, SiS motherboard.

the 4870 beats the 260 in several games, and even beats the 280 with CSS/HL2..
i hear there are some crazy monster cards comming next year...and the year after....
we get it, you like nVidia. so did i until upgrading this gen looked a bit like a rip off. Maybe next year when nVidia realizes the cards have to actually improve to get people to stay in their camp. I've never used an ATI card in my life until this year. nVidia just got owned.
you have 2 options for the heat:
1) turn the fan speed up to ~40% if you want your card idleing in the 50's, and maxing in the 60's while OCed 40mhz to the CCC max of 790(expect this number to change soon with modded drivers n such).
2) Buy an aftermarket cooler. Apparently coolers that work with the 3870 also fit the 4870. The one from thermalright is the best.
its best to have a ps3 and pc. pc > 360 and ps3 has games that are worth playing designed exclusively for it. Owning a 360 pc combo is like having 2 pcs, one is just not as good...
