I may be late but that was the first time that I saw that clip. That demon part was awesome.
You can usually tell the type of score a game is going to get by the build up. Here lately websites and blogs rave about games up until the release and than hit it with a mediocre score (or what some consider mediocre anyway).

I found 3D for shooters to be great also myself. I prefer not to use it in multiplayer (at least with Killzone 3) due to the fast pace. For single player though it is a nice option. The stealth portion of the Kaznan jungle in KZ3 was amazing in 3D.
On the other hand, I didn't like Socom 4 in 3D. It only had a good effect on the menus and HUD. 3D may be better for FPS more so than 3rd. This is why I'm hoping that Naughty Dog has something special up their sleeves for U...
