DC and Marvel have done it. Infamous killed off Cole. Killzone killed Jan, Gears killed off one of its iconic characters. Mortal Kombat killed off like 3/4 of the cast in the 2011 game. Mass Effect did it. Bioshock did it. Bordelands, Star Wars Force Unleashed, Persona did it. This wouldn't be unheard of at all.

I would love to see his insurance bill. It must be through the roof at this point. He's survived about 10 Pelican crashes (rough estimate), being shot down to Earth via a bomb, multiple Warthog accidents, and too many things to even document. Dude needs r&r like yesterday.
