"we talk about Driveclub's shambolic development period and release"
Say what you want about the release but calling an 11 month delay 'shambolic' is some hyperbole.
You heard it here first folks.
"especially with Xbox ones stellar holiday season line up"
Probably because the PS4 spread out its stellar games throughout the year instead of saving them for the holidays. No drought on PS4, it was very impressive compared to the PS3's first year.
Also I'm not sure we should call Sunset Overdrive 'stellar' until it has been released and proven.
You're absolutely right about me being wrong about DC being the same as F5. PGR is the perfect comparison.
Though I still disagree that DC and FH should be compared as equal genres comparison. Being open world changes things considerably.
@ naga
Driveclub is neither sim nor arcade, you wouldn't compare Driveclub to Burnout. A good comparison would be the Project Gotham Racing games as they both seem to blend sim and arcade without going to either extreme.
Forza killer, as in Forza 5, the one that's in a more similar genre.
Where was the complaints that Forza 5 wasn't open world?
Go compare FH2 to GTA V then, they're both open world right? And you can race too huh?
While you're at it compare first person shooters with third person shooters because they're both shooters right?
Good thing you added that s/ at the end (which I assume should have been /s) because I was about to smash that disagree button.
How about let it come out early and then YOU can buy it in may or june if you like?
I'm sorry but I need this game inside me.
FH2 and The Crew would be more suited for comparison than DC. Compare DC with Forza 5 or Project CARS when it releases, at least they'd be in the same genre.
Say what you will about the PS4's exclusive line up this year (which was nicely spread out throughout the year rather than in the Fall, making it look bare compared to the competition). But Sony has 2015 in the bag, even as early as February you have Bloodborne and The Order and for the latter half (I assume) you'll have the Uncharted 4 behemoth, and when they show U4, I predict jaws will drop and hype will rise significantly.
"You were saying..."
Well, he was right. He claimed that there was nothing you could do to prevent the game coming to PS4 and it came to PS4 so I don't see what your point is.
Yeah I doubt this is true and if it were to be true then why would they keep it a secret, Sony would shout that from the mountain tops.
Yeah? Well as long as it doesn't perform as badly as X1 it'll be fine I think.
How did this get approved?
"The PS+ edition is exactly 20% of the game at launch"
You're only talking about cars and tracks and there is more to the game than those, PS+ includes every game mode including online multiplayer and full trophy support.
Does it offer 20% of the game modes? No it offers 100% so stop trying to twist facts.
Which reminds me, Twin Peaks is coming back in 2016.
Which is funny because some of the car manufacturers that they recorded from asked the DC devs if they could keep a copy of their engine audio as it was more accurate than they themselves had. Though I don't recall which manufacturer it was, I think it was either BMW or Audi.
I can't pass judgement on it myself yet has I'm only using my shitty laptop speakers.
Just adding whatculture to the list of sites that I won't waste time on again.
It's the principal, we let them get away with this now and they'll keep on doing it, particularly if they have deals with MS, like they do for Unity, Dragon Age (which also recently revealed it'll have console parity), I won't be surprised to hear it from Evolve and The Division next.
