Yes I hope it will be, I still make machinimas in GTA V, I even bought the PC version so I could use mods just for making movies.
They need to make the Director Mode more robust though. Let us place NPCs, set relationship status with them (friendly/enemy/neutral) etc.
It started stale, it's now pretty amazing although it's starting to feel a bit dated, but I blame that on it being a last gen game.
I really hope RDR2 and future GTA titles become improve their controls, I'd love to see my character moving as fluidly as Nathan Drake.

It's possible it won't have September to itself. There's a slim chance that RDR2 could hit that month, plus who knows what might be announced at E3.
Though I still expect Destiny 2 to do very well, I don't think I've seen any other game hook people the way Destiny 1 did, even if the same people always complain about it. And speaking for myself I can't wait to see what it looks like when it's not being held back by last gen ports.
