Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe games like Grim Dawns, Shovel Knight, Undertale, and Pillars of Eternity were all funded on Kickstarter. And everyone seems to love those games. (Aside from those of you who will inevitably reply with "well I HATE one or all of those games" as if to suggest that you have better taste than everyone else.) I don't think one flop should compel people to stop using an entire program.
