Are you serious? They release an unfinished console with less functionality than their previous console and you praise them for it? Gawd help us if there are more engineers like you.
It is unfinished and should not have been released yet.
It's EA afterall
Not just publishers, the console companies are also happy to release unfinished consoles. The whole industry is out of control and on a slippery slope right now. I'm getting fed up with the worshipping of these asshole companies by most of the gamers out there, this is why they think they can release unfinished hardware and software (games AND apps) and get away with it.
Just make the first DLC free.
"No one should want any particular company not to do well (unless deserved) because we as consumers benefit from Sony and Microsoft’s rivalry."
MS kind of deserve it this time with their misplaced focus on Kinect, TV and (the now retracted) total control. I predict a new console in 5 years (if at all) if their cloud gamble doesn't produce any industry innovations. Personally I hope it does deliver as promised, I want to experience living, open worlds and whateve...
Whatever is cheapest.
A rushed money grab. Classic EA.
Do you mean the pissing contest?
Fanboys are irrational to begin with, don't bother. These idiots think they are soldiers for their chosen console company. As long as your console is selling well enough to not be the next dreamcast, all is good.
And now bring on the games.
Miss the point much in life?
*groan
I think you have your priorities screwed if you think console sales are more important than gaming activity.
You are a minority on n4g, most come here for the pissing contest, not the actual point of the website, but then again most people are idiots.
Australia still has last month's.
You are mistaken, that is the reason for your confusion. Fanboys generally are.
They were clearly both rushed. They are just going to rely on firmware updates when they get their shit together.
Another fanboy infested comments section. Nothing to see here.
The N64's failure was due to the limitations and cost of using cartridges, and Nintendo's ridiculous game developer policies and costs. It was their ego that killed that console as developers started dropping like flies.
Also, the Gamecube was more powerful than the PS2 so I don't get the 3rd point. Sony only passed Nintendo in hardware specs with the PS3.
