The main problem is with the games. I have tried playing same games on Vista SP1 and XP, guess on which they ran faster? XP! Why? coz the OS's RAM, CPU utilization is much low.
Gamers want visual eye candies, but we want them to go away from leeching on resources when we click on a game application.
I use WindowBlinds and IconPackager in XP SP3 to get the eye candy and still the RAM utilization is WAY less than Vista SP1.
I hope they fix this problem ...
It's really amazing how GTA IV runs and looks on Xbox 360. One can notice the AA clearly there, though I played the PS3 version and it doesn't run well enough on my PC :(
Xbox 360 is really THE platform for GTA IV. It's good M$ bribed Rockstar to get them on their side. Totally turned the tables as far as GTA goes.
P.S - M not saying that the game was so over the top or something, but as being a hardcore GTA fan, it really hurts while not having the extra content for...
Please bring Midtown Madness franchise back.
I don't get it with all the hate for a game whose only mistake is that it wasn't advertised enough. I have played it on my PS3 and it's surely worth renting once. The glove in it is seriously awesome!
I'll give it an another go on my PC, with better graphics and framerate of course ;).
Because Microsoft decided to release games rather than showing videos. Simple.
I really didn't face any problem with the game. Dunno what the guy is talking about.
Please don't tell me this will be an exclusive to Xbox.
PC version will be having it all included in one pack in Feb 09. Can't wait for that.
Better textures, framerate and now more players too? and oh, it's cheaper too!
Gears 2
Yeah, San Andreas is the best of the series yet. It was truly amazing to see how much they did with a hardware like PS2 and still the game ran smooth.
There was absolutely no lack of content and the game was fairly long unlike GTA IV. But it was the last of the gen's GTA, so there'll be more like it in this gen too.
Keeping my fingers crossed, though.
I have played the game on PS3. Will be fun to play it again at 'actual' 720p resolution and not-crappy framerate.
I don't think the game on PS3 would be able to handle a thing like that.. Game already runs at poor framerate.
Seriously, videos like these are getting boring now. If a guy has a PS3, he'll buy the PS3 version and same goes with the 360 one. If a guy has both, he'll buy where his friends are at.
I guess we have seen enough games and videos of games of both consoles to acknowledge their power, so why waste time on nit-picking small things, whose real reason is only known by the developers?
I have played enough shooters to say that this one "looks" most beautiful of them all. Can't say much about the gameplay as I am not in the beta but things I have seen in videos, like the physics, destruction, lighting. It's just too damn amazing.
I can't wait to buy this one.
I played the game on my PS3, with no AA and not-so-great framerate. This one coming to PC actually made me sell my copy and wait before the second play. Will play it now with better textures and framerate (maybe no AA as the requirements are quite high).
One of R*'s officials has already said that PC version of GTA IV will be the best version available (duh!). But still I want the next game to appear on consoles first, this way they get to make money which ends up in creating a ...
Says who? Oh, the creator of a phone with no MMS, video recording, Bluetooth etc.
Lmao!
I haven't played the MP yet but SP is fun, like CoD4. The presentation, missions are all like CoD4, only this time with WW2 weapons and different style of dialogue delivery. So it IS infact the best WW2 game ever made.
I think Treyarch started development of CoD:WaW before the success of CoD4, that's why it's based on WW2. It'd be petty safe to say that the future games will be based on modern or future (*fingers crossed*) warfare.
Online gaming should be free. Early demo, Beta access could be charged and that is exactly what Sony is doing -- not pissing off the consumers who loves playing online while also giving others options to get into Beta, demos etc. early.
Hmmmm..
Those figures surely looks good but I wasn't goofing around. I actually sensed a performance jump in Crysis Warhead, Grid, Far Cry 2 when I switched back to XP from Vista. Maybe it's all sorted out now but I don't believe it.
I never complained about any other driver or application support in Vista as I already know it's on par with XP now (atleast when it comes to 32bit).
With SP2, I'll give Vista an another try though.
