Come on guys. The system, the games, third party controllers... Do we really need this many threads to tell us that the price drop has spurned some sales.
There may be some news worthy content in the article, but overall this is not a very professional news post. The subject matter is nothing new and the title is obviously meant to get undue attention. Do they let anyone post news stories now?

Here we go again with these silly claims. This crap has been started about nearly every high profile game on the 360 to date. I remember hearing that GRAW and Dead Rising had a fatal flaws that were frying consoles. I've never experienced any problems with any of these console killing games. It's faulty hardware that's bricking systems, not software.
IGN on Virtua Fighter:
"The aliasing issues, which were quite noticeable in the PS3 version, are gone from the 360 build. There's no shimmer, no ugly jagged lines -- Virtua Fighter 5 on 360 is beautiful. There are a lot of nice, subtle effects that add a nice touch to the environments, such as early-morning fog rolling across the arena. The backdrops are clean and colorful and the game runs smooth as a thoroughbred."
It's interesting that Gamespot said ...
I'll post Gamespot's quote again:
"While both versions were polished and highly playable, the Xbox 360 demo looked slightly more advanced, with a smoother overall frame rate and easier controls thanks to the standard joypad. The final game promises to run at 30 frames per second on both consoles (although the physics are modelled at 60fps), but this is yet to be optimised on either the PS3 or Xbox 360. The result is that the game never slowed down to a sluggish pace, but i...
...Gamespot had this to say about the game:

The screenshots look like crap! How could EA even release those? They're fuzzy, washed out, and the textures are terrible. What is going on with Tiger's arms in the 2nd one? Is that a zombie with a "cricket bat" behind him? This is either a big mistake or a big disappointment.
Forza 2 is the best racing sim I've ever played as well. Yes, there are better looking games out there, but none achieve the depth, the features, and the spot-on driving physics of Forza 2.
I won't be losing any sleep over Dirt and it's weak physics and lack of multiplayer. It sure looks pretty though.
I felt the same way after the demo.
No head-to-head multiplayer. Only leaderboard races.
That paint job is an amazing achievement and is both gaming related and news worthy. As a Forza 2 fan, I love getting updates on these cars. Those of you complaining are just being haters. Just because you don't/can't play the game doesn't mean you can come knocking this story.
Another large part of this game is CORR racing, which IS head-to-head in real life. That is why this is called Dirt and not Colin McRae Rally.
Codemasters has admitted themselves that, when designing this new game engine, they just didn't have the time or resources to develop the network code for online head-to-head racing. It has nothing to do with the rally racing aspect of the game as the game features rally cross and CORR events, which are head-to head in the real world. Though the WRC events will be fine with a stage time leaderboard, the rest of the modes should have had head-to-head.
This is hands down the best racing game I've ever played. As a hardcore gearhead and a racing fan, it is an absolute dream.I have to think that those of you who are arguing trivial graphics comparisons and such, just don't get it or haven't played it.
IMO, the demo didn't look quite as good as I was expecting on my 42 HDTV. Don't get me wrong, it's one of the best looking racers I've seen, but it just didn't look as good as the early pics and vids suggested.
You're assuming that most consumers want to pay extra for a PS1, PS2, and Blu-ray player. The truth is that most consumers just want a next-gen game console. It's like going to the car dealer and them jacking up the price with a bunch of options you don't really want or need. Most consumers would rather just save the extra money.
Gears may be more hardcore and have better graphics, but it's only 8 players, it's slow, the controls are difficult, the lobby/matchmaking system is bare bones, and it has too high a learning curve for casual gamers.
Halo has always been the best game for taking a large group of friends into matchmaking and just having fun. It's fast paced, the controls are easy to pick up, and it has the best matchmaking system ever.
and tell me if things really look so rosey for Sony. I price drop so early in the consoles lifespan is not a good sign, even if it spurns some sales. They're desperately trying to catch up, not winning the console war.
