Making a game these days aren't cheap and I defend the gaming community when I come across a non-gamers complaining about the $60 price tag.
The usual:
NG: But it cost $5 to make the disc, case, and print for the box?
Me: Funny, those shoes you wear cost $15 to make but why did you pay $80???

Been hoping this game would make it to the PS4, so glad it is!

I thought they already did? There are rainbow colors on almost every game cover. The graphics are so pixelated that the characters can represent anybody. Well almost.

So the solution is to make the fans spend more money? Why not solve it by reducing the size and save the fans money so they can spend it on other things?

Wonder if he can handle the first Warcraft or 2.
.
It was the move controllers that simplified the experience for my old man. His favorite is Rush of Blood. It makes sense since he was a huge fan of the gun games at the arcades - Operation Wolf, Lethal Enforcer etc.

As for Wii and Kinect, although they got the casuals/non gamers interested in gaming, it was a waste they couldn't keep the momentum going. Would've great if they did.

Well, Blockbuster was charging $5-7 a week (4 movies per month). Netflix offered a more convenient and cheaper deal: watch and check out as many as you want for a month fee ($16 at the time?); the more you watch, the better the deal you get. The only advantage to Blockbuster was the new releases which were available sooner compared to Netflix.
So, if they want to be the next Netflix and as popular, they need to offer deals at a rate and library that's so attractive that millions ...

Last time my dad (60) played a game was back in the 16 bit days. He lost interest due to too many buttons in the 32 bit generation. Today he's interested in video games again thanks to...VR. :/

My problem with some reviews is that some will rush their reviews for clicks/$$$ and give an unfair score...

If you're reviewing a game you're a not a fan of or unfamiliar with, let the reader know.

I don't think so especially for those who care more about frames over 4K image quality. X1X will look good compared to PC high or some Ultra settings, but the frames will be 30 compared to 60+ frames on PC. Those who don't care about frames, the X1X works for you.

Although what were presented in this article seem true, I doubt it. Author really needs to dig deeper before calling them scams. These games don't take 2 years to make. Also, when you make a game, you don't show everything. You show a demo/trailer and that's it. Some games take 5+ years to make now depending on how sophisticated the game is. Didn't the dev for Bloodstain said the game will release in 2019/2020???
For Shenmue, 6 million is just enough to make the game...

The X1X is a great machine but I feel next gen is coming around the corner in about 2 yrs: announcements in a yr; then release less than a year later.

If they drop the price for the pro to $350, it might be the other way around.

Yes, they are people and they go through struggles and successes like us, and we pay them when they do a great job on their games. But, they shouldn't get a pass if they release/advertise a poor game and expect us to pay $60 for it. I know some people can go overboard with their criticism, but maybe it's because it was the dream game they've been looking for but fell short on release because the devs didn't meet it from what was promised. Like every business, fulfill your fans...
