For me, it's when the game forces the player to play a certain way that you can't escape/no alternative way to play. I'm looking at you Far Cry 5. No matter where you are or what you do, the screen goes dark and you're captured. Now you have to escape the illusional space. First time I'm ok with it but when you have to repeat that same stupid process over and over??? Hell no!
It definitely will: old + new fans = more than 5 million.
Fully support the creative and talented teams making the game and make sure it's done right - none of that "we must hit the holiday season" bs unless that's when the game hits Gold status and ready for release.
Then make sure the money grabbing guys know nothing about the project until the game launched. Hell, get rid them.

If they wanted to push for PSNOW then what's the point of the next gen console? I think the whole PSNOW was for the casuals who have some interest in video games with smart TVs and getting into the Netflix model/market.
I think 99% PS5 will be BC, but like everyone else, I would be super shocked if it doesn't.
I think, like Activision, Ubisoft throw thousands of man hours upfront to build the foundation of the sandbox and then keep a number of people around to rehash the rest for the trilogy.
