I would say the success of GTA Online is equally worse.
And the sad and unfortunate reality is that this will actually sell really well giving Nintendo the false confirmation that this was a sound business decision and what the consumers actually wanted.
And the sad thing is that this well sell massively well just cause its Nintendo.

Just cause Zenimax is under MS doesnt mean new IPs wont come and great games wont be made. It just means you'll need a gaming PC/Xbox to experience them the same way I need a PS to experience God of War and Last of Us.
So how is that unhealthy?
Is it unhealthy that I cannot play Last of Us or Horizon on Xbox?
Is it unhealthy that I cannot play Spiderman Miles Morales on Xbox?
Or is it only unhealthy because Starfield cannot be played on PlayStation?
This is capitalism. If you want the full gaming experience, get a Xbox, Switch and PS5. Or just substitute a PC for the Xbox.

Sony made this move because it strengthens their portfolio. MS bought Bethesda cause it strengthens their portfolio.
We can argue the smaller details all day but when its all said and done....they are still billion $$$ companies making decisions that strengthens their business prospects in a given field which at the end of the day is the ultimate objective for businesses.
How is it different? Big company like Sony buys out a game studio. Big company like MS buys out game studio.
But off course I'll get downvotes and people will disagree cause this is the action of Sony...
