WIFI is a commodity, it can help make things easier with less cable. But is not necessary. The BD has not proven itself "TO ME" as a valuable needed tool. It's a commodity to play Blu-Ray movies.

I don't watch blu-ray movies and I think at the present moment they are a rip off. So in reality it's not a feature I care about and the fact that It's touted as such a wonderful feature, I have to deal with ridiculous installations everytime I put a new game or in case of MG4 everytime I switch chapters.

It's a special promotion over a price cut. You are reading too much into it. The price of the elite won't stay at that range. If that where the case then yeah, but it's only for a month thus making it a limited special offer.
