Even though they are getting pirated there are good people out there buying it, therefore as long as it's not 100% piracy on PC they are ok IMO.

you are correct IMO that playing single player and xchat doesn't seem like it could work but you are also assuming that 1.) First time Playing game 2.) There is no grinding to so called game.

When I play gears I don't care about listening to the other players. Me and my friends start a party chat, start the game and we play talking and having fun with each other. No need to listen to the ramblings of idiots that make the atmosphere of the game not enjoyable.
And if someone joins our party on gears because we have less than five we don't need to listen to him talking nonsense to us.

I really don't like running and gunning. I like to find a spot and get as many headshots as possible. I tend to lookout for chokepoints where people keep fire fighting.

What about games that have so called glitches/exploits and are part of the game. For example MVC2, CVS2 or SF.
MVC2 has glitches like fly/unlfy, infinites and juggernaut powerup glitch.
CVS2 has the roll cancel glitch and SF has kara throws.
