I know people hate negativity for games they're excited about, but it really does feel like the butchered the atmosphere here. Doesn't feel mysterious or scary anymore, just way overdone. The breathing and grunting for example... we get it... it's a brutal world. Could you be a little more subtle about it? The presentation just feels really westernized.

I'd be hard pressed to say the appeal is still hardcore gamers anymore honestly. A lot of games on the xbox and ps4 this gen were borderline interactive movies (especially PS4). Most of the time old-school gamers are playing on PC or switch.
The design is what differentiates it from past handhelds and makes it special, but with the nomad you had to hook it the AVs and power adapter every time you wanted to play on the tv, and with the psp you didn't have the option to use a regular controller (at least as far as I am aware), you had to sit close using the same dinky controls.
With switch, you just dock it, take the joycons out and that's it. It's a MUCH more instantaneous experience.
Ironically enough, minimal loading times is one of my favorite things about the switch. I'm glad consoles will start using SSDs this gen.

Definetely a reach but I think there's a point to be made about 720p on switch. The switch is a handheld first and foremost and for its size 720p is fine. People comparing it to ps4 and xbone is ridiculous because its not even attempting to be the same thing.
