I have yet to play a big budget demanding game on PS4 that runs at 1080p 60 fps locked. Sony hyped up 1080p60fps and don't deliver it with there own first party games. I stopped caring about the 1080p 60fps gate (and resolutiongate)months ago. Just give me a good looking, fun to play game that performs well regardless of its frame rate and res.
Nintendo has several times done something that held back their consoles. N64: lack of disc drive & a weird controller. Gamecube: low storage mini discs and lack of online development. Wii:low specs, lack of HD and multi media features. The Wii U improved on Wii, but has low specs and it's multimedia and online features are behind the competition. All Nintendo consoles since the Gamecube have had poor 3rd party support.

This ruining Christmas for people that got either console as a gift (both require an update out of the box). I hope both Sony and MS fight off these hackers and the Feds catch these low lives.
The game wasn't big budget and wasn't expected to sell a lot which is why it is digital only. The author of the article doesn't seem to understand this.
It was stated that Uncharted 4 would be darker than the previous entries. Maybe Baker was hired cause he has played a number of dark characters (Joker, Joel, etc).
If Nintendo had a good marketing sense, they should of released a Smash Bros deluxe bundle.
The specs given for the PS4 clock speed are false; the console has 8 x 1.6GHz processors not 8 x 2.7GHz. Article also states that the PS3 has 256mb of ram, when it in fact has 512mb(2 *256mb non-unified).
If you have a limited budget the PS3 is low priced and you can jump into a deep catalog of older games and stunning exclusives. However if you want to jump into current gen the PS4 is looking to have a very strong line up for 2015.
The Wii U could have maintained backwards compatibility as long as the architecture remained similar to the Wii and GC. Nintendo went with a tri-core processor clocked at only 1.24GHz. This was surprising considering most computers in recent years have been Quad Cores with 2.0GHz+ processors.
Metroid trilogy on Wii is just a collection. Remember the wii didn't support HD graphics.
I would rather they release HD collections of old games rather than "definitive editions" of very recent ones.I personally want Metriod Prime Trilogy HD on Wii U. I would rather pay a full 60 bucks (or 40) for a collection of old games than a rerelease of a recent game.
The PS3 and 360 were sold at huge losses, yet in the end they were deemed successful enough to warrant successors. Its a come practice to loss money on consoles and make back money on the software, merchandise, peripherals and advertisement.
Irrational was downsized for a silly reason. If Ken Levine wanted to make smaller games, why not just make a team in the studio dedicated for the smaller projects. Instead he fired 90% of the staff; a group of people that helped make a game of high quality that was nominated (and won) numerous awards.
The Wii U is being hurt by its name. If the console had a different name it would be selling better. The name causes confusion among non gamers buying consoles for others.
It has nice art, but its very simple and undemanding. Its not an ugly game in anyway; but it isn't technically impressive.
I am certain it was stated that 7th to 8th gen dev cost didn't increase exponentially like they did from 6th to 7th. I don't see why dev cost would increase greatly from 7th to 8th gen, console architecture is simple and relatively conserved and PC like this gne. Also the title of your blog seems strange; increasing development cost would apply to all new consoles (and PCs) based on the data and info you provided.
This game was not very popular and had only a very small niche of people played it. MS still has the ip and the character of blinx can still be used in other titles,even though this is unlikely.
