The XL 1 was lowest end while the X12's were mid end. My 14 yr old stepson also had the $100 "all in one" headset for his 360 and ps3 to which the mic has broken. He now has a mid range Triton which he's had for about 7 months now with no problems - so far. My 8 yr old has also had a $20 Triton for about 3 months now with no problems.
I believe that good quality is just good quality no matter what the price. Nobody should have to pay top dollar for something...
More hype train crap
Turtle Beach is garbage quality. I bought 2 TB Earforce X12 for Christmas 2 years ago at Gamestop. Since, both have broken 5 times and have been replaced through Gamestop. Both the sound and mic are pretty much guaranteed to eventually break on this particular headset. I can't speak for other TB headsets but if this is what I get for $69+ tax then why would I invest more money for a more expensive one.

Its all about the games and the X1 has the definite edge with more announcements on the way. MS has realized how important exclusives are and have invested $1 billion on creating them. Sony can only dream of that kind of investment. I wouldn't expect much from Sony this gen they're just hanging on hype.
I didn't post the PS4's mega ton of indie games because people don't pay a few hundred $$$ to buy a new console just to play indies.

The PS4 is just all hype. It has 2 games; KZ and Resogun a mega ton of shitty little indie games plus a few PC f2p multi-plats to which are better played on a PC anyway. Like I said it's all hype!
Making exclusive games costs money something Sony doesn't have, in-house or not.
The hype will die out when the X1 starts spitting out exclusives.
Those multipal studios aren't doing much and it still costs lots of $$$ to make a game. That's all I wanted to say.
