Problem is X1 is not excelling in better light, effects and etc while suffering resoultion.
X1 is same or worse on all account and lower resoultion.
And potential power to be unlocked is lower on X1 side as well due to weaker hardware.
No one said it is only about resolution...
That is straw argument.
It is resolution with everything else. Lighting, physics, animation and RESOLUTION is better with stronger hardware.
And it isn't only about draw call. There is so much more to it.

You do realize that 60 inch TV is 9 times bigger than 20 inch monitor?
So if you sit 3 times to 5 times distance, your screen is 9 TIMES bigger.

This "upscale" PR is biggest BS people bought into.
My TV has an upscaler. it has been upscaling my 720P last gen to 1080P.
My PC display has an upscaler too. Not to mention depending on circumstances, my PC can upscale too.
So please. Lets not make it out to be some secret sauce.
900P on your 1080P PC display is upscaled as well.

Funny thing is that if I set my PC resolution to 900p from 1080p, it is so obvious right away.
Nothing is blown out of proportion.

I won't turn away from a game because of its resolution, but it sure is NICE to enjoy game at FULL HD. on my FULL HD, TV.

1. 1400 to 1690 is not a no "revenue increase"
2. Sony's revenue structure changes as console ages. Hardware sale(LOW MARGIN or zero margin) revenue to royalty(pure profit) revenue. so even at same revenue, your margin skyrockets. X360 did this for MS too last gen.
Plus Sony themselves said they are planning to put some money into gaming division to their shareholder.
