I think there is a "golden time" for every game to release where the game is just polished enough and the release calendar is just open enough that said game can get its time in the spotlight and sell well.

SoA is easily the best JRPG on the Dreamcast and Gamecube by a country mile.
Xenogears is not a series. Hence it was not mentioned. Xenosaga is a series. Xenoblade is a series. But Xenogears is not. I thought about mentioning them but we just got a Xenoblade last year. As for Wild Arms, I did mention that one.

It's because Deus Ex is primarily a PC franchise. Sure Deus Ex HR was released at the same time on consoles but its mostly PC gamers that loved it. But the thing is... PC gamers almost never get hyped about stuff unless its something like Half Life, Civilization or StarCraft - something that was made primarily for the PC crowd. The new Deus Ex games were made with console gamers in mind so PC gamers tend to play the "wait and see" game.

Anything that looks this much like Final Fantasy Tactics or Tactics Ogre NEEDS my support. Not enough Tactical RPGs being made these days and certainly not many that look this good.

It's a great game and I love how the choices you make totally change the story. Do you choose to be practical? or would you rather stand on your principles? I really got a lot out of Tactics Ogre. But for me, FF Tactics was the better game. I know they are both made by Yasumi Matsuno. The story, even without choices, is just so much better in FF Tactics IMO. When the whole internet was going crazy for the PS4 and XBO back in 2013, I was more interested in the Wii U. Simply because it had more exclusives that I wanted to play. I eventually got a PS4 and I may still get an XBone but Wii U has WAY more exclusives that I want to play. I mean how can you say no to games like:

If we can get a great Hulk game like (Ultimate Destruction) then Superman can be done too. The biggest problem I see is that you'd need a fully destructible open world to play in and unfortunately video game engines just aren't quite there yet.

I have yet to play either of those but I have played Tactics Ogre on PSP, which is part of that same series, and I loved it.
I'll put those on my priority list.
I recommend you download the fan translation of VC3 and a PSP emulator.
VC3 is my favorite of the series. The characters in particular are several levels more interesting than the characters in VC 1 and 2. I am still furious at Sega for not localizing and remastering VC3 (as well as a ton of other Sega games like Skies of Arcadia, Shining Force III, pretty much the entire Saturn first party catalog, etc.)
This is 2016, don't let the language barrier ...
