yes, that's why titles like Oblivion, fallout 3, mass effect had a huge impact, they combine a nice new formula of combat and history telling with the open world exploration with non linear paths, JRPGs are stuck on linear modes because the Japanese public are used to do reading but they hate exploration, but that kills the enjoy of the gameplay.

it seems you forgot that namco, capcom and square made titles for the xbox before, just to mention Onimusha genma, FFXI and soul calibur IV with spawn as the special guest, so those were never "stolen", they decided to give something to the 360 users
