Will never happen, they will just use Blu-ray. Nintendo wants to keep costs low, using Blu-ray will do that. Using a new media will not.
Also, Blu-ray is not Sony's property, they are just one of several major stakeholders in it. Sony only owns the Blu-ray logo outight.

They don't really have a choice, they're part of Sony. It's kinda their job to promote everything Sony, and 3D is big for them.

1. You only buy a system based on it's exclusives. If the Xbox 360 did not have Halo or Gears, people may not have bought it. If the PS3 didn't have Uncharted or GOW, they may not have bought it.
Exclusives are what makes your decision, NOT multiplatform games, they are just a bonus.

Loss of the RAM will be disappointing, but the removal of internal storage is probably a good idea. I mean you can get cards that are big enough nowadays.
1. Companies can always recapture market share dominance, look at Nintendo, they are proof that you can. They were last place in the past 2 generations, and now they're top.
2. Sony hasn't fallen that far behind, they've already sold almost on par with Xbox 360 worldwide, if not more. And they've reached 50 million sales, whereas Gamecube last gen only sold 25 million.
Anything is possible.
Sony won't be starting a new gen this year or next year as far as we know.
All kinda crappy imo, Resi is probably the best one.
