I have to disagree. While that might be the reason for their continued success (as let's face it, WoW is all they've done in awhile) they were huge long before that and would no doubt be huge even if they'd done something else instead.

This game really is beautiful. Even the sweaty, half-unconscious men look good. Sort of.

Hopefully it's a bit better than Midway was. Not that it was a bad game, it just had lots of components, none of which really stood out.
I cannot imagine Garrett with anyone else's voice. Of course, I also can't imagine a Thief game without Garrett. Strange they're being so cagey, but maybe they're waiting for some nice assets so they can show off the look and reveal Garrett's new look all at the same time?
Wow. Considering that they've released precisely bugger all that's not a WoW expansion pack lately, compared to Ninty and Rockstar, that actually comes as a bit of a shock.

I'm kinda glad they're not just half-arsing it. It's the sort of thing that could actually add another level of depth to the game, I think, if it was handled right - only trusting certain others by letting them know who your secret identity is, etc. If they could get decent in-game impacts in for something like that...
Yeah. Considering the way their games stack up on games charts, they're going to do well when the next set come out, even if they - by some quirk of fate - turn out to be terrible.

Thief is a marvellous, marvellous series. If they really are paying attention to the fans that's ratcheted up my excitement even further.
