It's refreshing to see brand new ideas and risks taken by Sony. I am exciting for this game, day 1 purchase for me.
This is not the first time and it will not be the last time. Whether it makes sense financially for the dev we will never know until years from now. But one indisputable fact is the negative message to the fan base of the TR series on the other platforms.

People can judge the game when it is released. The argument that this will not sell well is just laughable, for every hardcore "I want this to be super hard" fan that turns away, the game will attract few more casual fans.
