I lived in Chicago burbs for almost 40 years. You are right about Chicago having a ban on guns, but you don't realize that Indiana is a 1.5 hour drive and those laws disappear once you cross the border. I did the same thing for fireworks. Illegal in Illinois, but take a trip across the border and bring them back home. I broke the law for fireworks, very easy to do the same thing for a gun.
