It is an amazing game, but be prepared to die over and over and over. The veteran players of this game are hardcore to the fullest.
There is a HUGE learning curve and if you don't stick with it, you may be overwhelmed coming this late to the party. That is also however what makes this game so satisfying. Once you get the hang of things there is just so much diversity in the destruction.

agree, my PS3 was a Warhawk Station for almost a year straight. Best multiplayer EVER in my eyes. There was just so much to do, so much to master, and so many ways to kill your opponent.
