Because they know it would flop if it was an exclusive because they trained their playerbase to not pay for games, I bet hellblade 2 didn't do well. I expect most of their games going multiplataform, that or a bunch of closed studios

Now that's crazy revisionism to me, in the ps2 era many devs mastered 3d graphics and gameplay, heck I would say that we really haven't evolved all that much past games like dmc 3, metal gear 3, Splinter cell, resident evil 4... in design, as a matter of fact I would say we went backwards in some aspects (physics and experimentation). That era has some tight shooters too like : the darwatch, black, king kong, psy ops, gun, the punisher
It's pretty meh honestly, weightless, clunky, boring animations, the melee is even more barebones. Mafia 3 combat was the best in the series but sadly the repetitive mission design ruined the game anyway

Alan wake remaster is one of my biggest buyers regrets for the same reason, a lot of effort in the writting and cutscenes but most of the gameplay is focused on shooting floating chairs and bloodless shadows (these are not compelling enemies!!!) without much depth on puzzles, level design, resource management... definitely not what I'm looking for when i play survival horror games
Microsoft and Sony should help them putting this on console, mod accessibility needs to advance more specially on Sony camp

Sadly a lot of people involved with localization think they're writers and have the right to 'correct' japanese products instead of focusing on delivering the closest English adaptation of the artist vision possible

I can see the impact of metroid level design in like... 70% of 2d games I've played, one the most recognizable influence I can think of. Super metroid is so imitated that you can go play it now and it still feels modern
Honestly if you have a phone and a joystick you can do some pretty decent emulation, heck, even a potato notebook can do it
