I have been leaving games inside my consoles since the Atari 2600 and have yet to experience any of the things the author of this article warns about.
Not saying that he is giving bad advice, I'm just saying that there is no need to panic over this.
I will continue to leave game discs in my consoles.
I'm very happy with my AMD Phenom 945.
Crysis is an incredible game (in terms of graphics AND gameplay) so I always get a kick out of people that say it's nothing more than pretty graphics.
Seriously, Crysis takes a massive dump on 95% of the garbage that passes for "great" these days, despite what a few journalists (a massive attention whore/hit seeker, in this case) may say about the game.

Wow, Gran Turismo 5 might end up being the biggest flop in video game history.

I'm sorry, but outside of a few people here on N4G, I have never heard anyone say positive things about Home.
It's just lame and boring as hell.
My favorite XBLA games so far are Shadow Complex, Peggle, UNO, Trials HD and The Maw, in that order.

I own an Xbox 360 and a PS3, and I like the experience that XBL provides me more than I like the PSN, so I pay for Xbox Live.
That doesn't make me "stupid", it's simply a choice that I (and millions of others) make.
Again, it says a lot about the PSN that people are willing to buy a 360 and then pay to play online, instead of just going with the free option.

I'm sure that some people would agree with you, but millions of people feel that Xbox Live is well worth the money, or else they would not be paying for the service.
My XBL Gold account is good until January 2012, so none of this is even an issue for me.
Over the last year or so I purchased one year subscriptions when I would find them for $30 or less, so I am good to go.
