Those are mediocre numbers. The series has bloated numbers because

a) Sony only mentions shipped numbers

b) after a few months Sony bundles each Uncharted with consoles

Suda 51 can't make a playable action game to save his life. If his games weren't so wacky, he would have no following. Even his "best" games (Shadows of the Damned, NMH1) are a mess.

Gears is only good for the multiplayer. Uncharted isn't good for anything. Same for COD, Crysis 2, etc.

And the people mentioning Halo? Halo isn't linear in this or any other reality. Halo is sandbox - not fully open, but still lots of places to go and ways to tackle scenarios.

GTA 4 was mediocre, and the 101 trailer for Sleeping Dogs does show more than any GTA to date ever had.

But obviously, people are sheep and fall into hype. I'll only believe GTA 5 will be good AFTER i've played it - GTA 4 was praised to hell and it was far below Just Cause 2 and Saint's Row 2 and 3.

Surprisingly fun. Didn't expect anything from it, but it's a blast. Better than Sonic & Sega All Stars, and that was a retail title. For $10, this is a steal.
