There's no doubt jrpgs are terrible compared to what they used to be. Most genres in gaming have gotten better over time but the jrpg is one of the few that never moved with the times.

I honestly dont agree with this. Sony are making more money than any other game company in the history of videogames with the ps4. They get this by selling games u cant get anywhere else to get people into their ecosystem and they then sell you more games and other content like movies and TV. If you dont have exclusives how can you convince people to buy ur box?
Psp for me is still the best handheld ever made. When u think of all the fantastic exclusives that console had.
It's simple what Sony should do. Release a cheap handheld with no internals in it. That means all the power comes from the ps5. Then it casts to the device like the wii u. That way u get a handheld that can be sold for really cheap that plays ps5 games.

Agree with you 100%. The franchise needs to evolve more. An open world with the pokemon interacting with the environment, each other and the player is what is needed. Movement like BOTW would also open up more opportunities to explore the world like climbing and swimming under water. Theres just so much more that they should be achieving with this franchise.
But again, look at the people on here defending the game, happy with the same old....so its never gonna happen.
Sigh...More of the same really. Graphics and linear environments are very dissapointing. Really hoped they would of pushed the boat out more, but I guess if the fans keep buying the games with incremental updates why should they bother?

Altogether was an ok game, nothing more. its really sad to see how far the JRPG has fallen the last two generations.Bar Persona 4 and 5 literally nothing made in the last 15 years can compare to classics like chrono trigger, final fantasys, FFT and Xenogears. Real shame.
Whilst that is for most part true, both Sony and Microsoft execs do give some pretty honest answers from time to time. Like acknowledging areas they need to improve. I can't think of a single time Reggie said that. Ever.
Gotta say not a fan of Reggie. Always spoke the company line ie defending terrible nintendo decisions in the past. Just wasn't a very honest or relateable guy.

As always will be playstation exclusives dominating however, we dont have release dates for alot of the games yet. It is possible that couple could slip to 2020 but if even two of those big games come out they win.
