You call yourself "RPG Guy" and you forget to mention Fable 2. And there's also Left 4 Dead.
First of all, this is just a Beta and a highly compressed one (about 500MB) so the retail version will look even better. Second, even with the crappy quality videos and the fact that the beta is highly compressed, it still looks a lot better than Gears 2; you really need to get your eyes checked if you can't see this.
This game is so much fun; I've beat the demo a 100 times. It's only two levels in the demo but it never gets old. The retail version will have 5-6 chapters with 5 levels per chapter, co-op and you can play as the infected!
The demo will be available for everyone to download on the 11th, for those that didn't pre-order.

Well, since Gears 1 was Game of the Year, why change it's gameplay? The fans loved it and wanted "more of the same"; EPIC delivered and the fans responded.
LBP is like Zack&Wiki; innovative, fun, hyped... but yet, it bombed. I'm sure the game would have sold more if it had guns in it ^^

Just try the Left 4 Dead demo (on PC if you don't have a 360) and you'll know what the hype is all about. Valve is the king of FPS, just like Blizzard is the King of RPGs. Those two are the ones pushing the genre forward.
If you like shooters (even if you don't -I didn't till I tried out the demo-) you'll like any Valve game.
If you like RPG you'll like Blizzard games as well....

At least the X360 owners have the choice (something you aren't use to yet)... either to get it on PC or 360.
It'll probably come to the PS3, but that won't be until next year and it will be a bad port, just like The Orange Box. PS3 only users, my advise to you guys will be to buy the game for your PC.
I hope your PC runs it though.

I watched some gameplay footage of this game on GT.com and I wasn't expecting the game to be this fun. With this new price I might consider buying it.
If you've played Left4Dead, then you'll know Resident Evil 5 will suck @ss. Basically, Left4Dead is what Resident Evil should have been after the second RE; Scary as hell, 4 player Co-op, emphasis on team, etc. This game is really really good (Left4dead off course); it makes me wanna try other shooters (like Resistance -8 player co-op- and COD: WAW -4 player co-op) and I'm usually not into shooters!
I'm getting Call of Duty and maybe Resistance; I heard that the Co-op in both games is really good.

... and from what I've heard (I wasn't able to get into the beta), the gameplay puts all other FPS to shame! God, I can't wait for this game!
Killzone 2, Heavy Rain, Alan Wake(?), Yakuza 3 and God Of War 3(?) are my most anticipated games for 2009.
