I got the article taken off the website try the link it is no longer up. The only thing I was trying to point out is that this article is misleading and did no justice to either Microsoft or Gears of War. No it shouldn't spark a flamewar but it will and did(go check majornelson.com). I don't think this content is even worth being on the XBL Marketplace let alone cost money.
1.The content is neither Epic or Microsoft in origin its Brady Games who made and are charging for it.
2.The link they provide in the article that leads to the Mark Rein Article he confirms that they will charge for GOW DLC and as we know this is Brady Games and not Epic.
3.Microsoft Game Studios is the Publisher of Gears Of War and they have the right to charge for DLC and mostly because the amount of money they put into advertising the game.
4.The article is misleading ...

Compression techniques have come a very long way even so to where Elder Scrolls(Xbox 1) is about the same size as Oblivion on the same type of disc although Oblivion has more content and is in HD. Even with all the HD textures games are still hovering around 3-4 GB at highest 5-6 GB and that still leaves 2 more GB to use before reaching the limit of a DVD-9. The limit of the DVD-9 is 8 GB because regional coding takes about a GB of the storage space.
