I am so far not that bothered about downloaded content as I have already played them.

Does now one get it yet why Sony didn't reveal the console. Microsoft tweeted themselves what a stupid idea not to show the console. So what Sony have done is push MS to show their console earlier in April. Yet Sony still said they had not fully completed the console. So what they are doing is making them reveal to much to early. I have to agree with you. It will sell loads for HTPC people with XBMC and Plex but otherwise I done think people actually that bothered for Android games on a big TV.
I remember the demos for Physix before nvidia bought then. Made a huge difference but it was cpu intensive. Hopefully they may start licensing it out as it stop PC developers bothering to use it as ATI cards dont have it.
From what i gather the Power PC chip is different from the x86. If there was a layer in between the hardware and the games that run like mac os or windows it will be backward compatible. But generally with consoles they have low level access to the hardware itself. So you may find that they will have the same issues that Sony have in that they are compiled to run on power-pc architecture. The Wii U will support UE 4 the same as PS4 and PS3 does as they do not have Directx. They use OpenCL probably. The Unreal engine is a multi purpose engine that runs on everything thing from a phone, tablet, pc and console. Go and have a look at epic's website where you can download their development software.
Totally agree i loved uncharted 2 multi player. But after all the changes i really didn't like it as much. Uncharted 3 felt like it was going down COD zone. such a shame.

Bang on that was what i was really interested in. The backwards compatibility for PS1,2 & 3. But the clincher for me was no downloading demo's but immediate play which means no crappy specially made demo's.
Imagine this service will help in future too as they will never have to worry about adding in BC to any new console. Meaning we get best bang for buck when buying new consoles. Not like this gen when my PS3 was more expensive because of the PS2 hardware in it....
Maybe they want you to buy them now as the Next Box will have the same problem as PS4 with downloadable content being able to transfer to the new machine.
