This is just common sense so many people switched from xbox to Playstation this gen so of course they are playing not only shooters but all kinds of games on the system that is clearly preferred, as evident by the sales figures.

The fact is by their own admission the numbers are inflated. If the numbers for just individual game sales were good then they would have reported those, apparently they're not so great.
The problem with this is its just a survey, a small cross section of the U.S. not the U.S. as a whole so its meaningless, dont get me wrong I'm totally fine with gamer girls I think they're great I just dont think this survey is truly representative of the gaming community and I'd bet money its actually more men who own consoles then women overall.
Simple solution you want to play multi-plat games in the best resolutions and quality available buy a PS4, you want to play sub par versions get an xbone, no troll just a simple fact this article proves yet again.

"real skill" LOL Halo requires no real skill, any 12-16 year old kid hopped up on Red Bull and Ritalin can smash the jump button over and over and over again while shooting stuff, its not hard or complicated or requires anything close to a skill at all.
