I didn't say Sony had an excuse, I said it was mainly down to horrible marketing. They did a lot of things wrong in the beginning of last gen. But it was also down to having higher manufacturing costs for new components.

Massively undermines the product and its reputation. MS's inability to show up in Japan, has forced them to drop to a crazy price (I know this GameStop). I would be pissed if i was an early adopter.
Also, just shows how much MS play on their traits of trusting their sales within less informed and a mislead fan base, as many probably don't even realise that you can enjoy a pretty similar experience on your 360 or your PC.
