It's his opinion. I don't feel the same. I've had 3 Xbox's (360, One S, One X) and they all end up collecting dust. That's just me. I gravitate towards Playstation because of the games.
They didn't even do this with Anthem, and that game was crashing and bricking PS4 systems.
Sony went from the Cell processor to a more friendly solution that paid out in the long run by switching to AMD. On top of that the Xbox One E3 presentation didn't help them out at all. They had to play catch up from that point. And exclusive games.

I just picked up the Creed/Moss VR bundle on Black Friday. I wanted to wait for more games to be available, the tech to mature, and the price to drop. Also bought Firewall Zero Hour, looking forward to playing that. I had trouble finding the VR, almost all stores were sold out by me.

Black Ops 3 had a great campaign. I played it co-op with my friends. 4 ppl co-op set it apart from other games. Will be a shame to get rid of it. That's been one of the reasons to buy from Treyarch. Campaign, multiplayer, zombies.
