The PS3 is priced 300$, but that does not mean Sony receives 300$ from each console. There are a lot of middlemen between the factory and the stores... Transports, retailers, etc. Each get's their cut. Sony probably get's about 150-200$ from each console sold... just guessing.
Gran Turismo 5 is going to be a great game with great graphics, but from the videos i saw, the damage is crap. They probably should of left the damage out and released the game already.
It goes both ways... Sony was "desperate" because of the below average sales, that's why the price cut... Microsoft got "desperate" because Sony's price cut, that's why their price cut.
It's all a business. If Sony was happy about sales, there would be no price cut. If Microsoft was not threatened by Sony's price, they would not have a price cut.

54.2% for the X360 does not surprise me. I have a X360 for a year now, and until now no RROD (and still have 2 more years of warranty)... but 2 of my buddies already had a RROD.
What surprises me is the 10.3% that the PS3 has... that's way more then i thought for a suppose to be "rock solid" system. I got mine from ebay, so i hope it holds since it has no warranty (should of bought a new console instead of...

What's all the fuss about the number of cars. 600... 700... 1000... cars. Does that make the game better then other games? Boderlands has more then a million guns, so is it the best FPS ever?
As for the game... graphics are great as we all know... damage not so great (average).
