The GF actually played Ratchet through twice and now wants to play LBP. When I'm not playing with her, I'll be playing KZ2. I think LBP has the potential to keep me playing for a very long time though. Good stuff.

That would be sweet. There's plenty of other games coming this year. It could be anything. There looks to be consistent titles coming from June on.
I remember having a slammer that was made out of solid brass. It was at least 1/4 of an inch thick. It used to split people pogs in half. I didn't use it much though. Wasn't very fair. I loved that game.
Did it get banned from your schools too? I remember the huge stink parents made cause the game was teaching their children how to gamble. Loosing pogs was causing fights etc etc. Twas a sad day for me and the reason pogs had such a quick death in the town I lived in.
I hope it's a little less then a year then a little more though. Still ... I can't wait to see what another year of polish and content additions will do to what we've already seen.

the first plasma came out. I remember everyone going crazy over how cool they were. I remember 40 inch Plasmas costing around 6-10 grand. The price is no where near that now. I have a feeling that the next time I'm looking for a major TV upgrade, OLED tech will have become several times cheaper for us.

Maybe the PS3 doesn't need to lower it's price in the European countries just yet. I would still like to see it happen though. right in time for GTA4 and MGS4.

I still buy the random CD though. So do a lot of people. Physical media is going to be a while before it's gone. The MP3 is much easier to download and store then a full length HD movie.

Once it does though ... I'll be on the DD bandwagon as well. But to say that DD is going to stop BD's success is a little more then just out in left field don't you think.
I think that if MS put that much into HD-DVD, they would have included it with every 360. It would have taken the 360 that much longer to hit the market and at a much higher price point. Who's to even say the 360 would be doing as well as it is had MS gone this route. when was the last time you saw a major marketing push for the PS2 in retailers around the nation. They are doing more then just putting blu-ray movies on shelves. BD is being rammed down peoples' throats when you walk into these stores. The first thing I see when I walk in is a massive HDTV with a BD movie playing on it. I'm speaking semi-rhetorically. I know people had heard of it, but no one made a big deal out of it. That is until the format war was decided. I mean seriously ... if MS was so sure that DD would be the future, why then would they support HD-DVD? Toshiba has said the same about DD too. Why is it that most of these people weren't supporting DD until BD had won?
Major retailer are backing the format for a reason. It's not because it's sinking. One can't even walk into an electronics store without being bombarded by Blu-Ray/HDTV adds and marketing.
