how delaying the dev kits by one or two months means that Home is beta tested for the whole life cycle of the PS3? Please ... explain. As far as I can tell, home will still be out by fall. It just might not have all the features from 3rd party devs. Plus ... from what I've seen leaked from the beta ... home is looking rather nice.
If it's done well, it's going to be awesome. Even if it's not done that well, at least we can do everything from the xmb.

The 360 had sold less consoles in the same time of it's life cycle. It did so with zero competition and cheaper prices. The sales picked up during the holidays. If you think the PS3 sales won't increase over the holidays then you're crazy. Wait ... I already knew you're crazy.

much better then the Spiderman Special Edition BS. It's a nice way to use the extra space Blu-Ray gives you. I would rather them use it for video games but, this is still pretty cool. They could do this with the new Pirates video game too. I'm probably not going to get this but, if I did, I know I would go with the extra 10 bucks.
Is that tomorrow I'm going to have to read something about the 360 selling more. Then the day after I'll read a damage control article about the Wii. The day after that the PS3 damage control team will be in affect. All of these articles are lame. Sales figures are lame. Neither console is doing spectacular. Great games will come out for both systems. User bases are growing for all consoles which is great for all of us.

But it's going to help. I just bought two movies the other day. My brother did for his PS3 as well. Stand alone players are coming down in value too and will also help sales. I just thought the titel was a little misleading since overall sales are still in blu-ray favor.
But ... these numbers are lame. Over 3 million sold in 6 months. It's good they have inventory though. If things pick up with games and a price drop, then they'll have the supply to meet demand.

to me at least, if the gameplay is the same, it has the same weapons and shiny graphics, I'll be happy. I want and expect Halo. It's a game that I and many have come to love.
I understand games like fracture are groudbreaking and new in concept but, Halo is Halo. Leave it at that. It's going to rock and sell extreamly well.

Are you kidding me. I bought the system totally stoked on Blu-Ray. Some people have bought the system just for a cheap player. Once games come out ... and they will come out soon ... the playing field will become much more level. Combine that with a price drop and PS3 sales will go up.

May saw the biggest launch for Europe. Each system sold at a loss. If this news isn't expected then I don't know what is. It's negative spin at it's best.

MS is going to drop the price of the Elite? NO way. Not yet. Even if it does drop to 429 as you speculate, the PS3 would be 499. For 70 more dollars you get a blu-ray drive and Wifi. UMMMMMM yes please.

Anyone who thinks a price drop would be a bad thing has major brain issues. Dropping the price 100$ would put the PS3 at the Elite's pricing range. MS can't drop that price just yet. PS3/60gig/WIFI/Blu-Ray/HDMI at 30 bucks more then the elite is a steal.
