I guess the author of this article has missed the entire indie market of today. Not to mention games like Greedfall, Remnant: From the Ashes, The Surge 2, etc. that are not quite AAA. There's plenty of those as well.

This year is stacked with amazing games, but I feel kinda bad for devs like Square, CDPR, and Naughty Dog because I really feel Alyx is going to clean up the GOTY awards.
