i think its kinda too late for marketing to make significant changes. all the rumors and bad press have already spread and kids/teens that would have otherwise ask their parents to buy them a wiiU already have their minds made up about just like the gamer adults do. they should have dedicated resources to marketing the wiiU from the start. its 2015 and its still casuals who think the WiiU inst a console but a controller upgrade for the original wii...thats the problem
@chronojoe
he doesnt play melee in tourneys so of course hes not top 10 but he did say he was going to fall back from smash 4 and take melee more serious. Zero is very respected in the smash community. smash 4 and melee require different approaches if one wishes to master each game but its unfair to put negative connotations on smash 4 simply because it isnt melee. in my honest opinion smash 4 is overall the best game in the series.
no hes undefeated...zero hasnt taken a lost in smash 4 ever
the best news out of all of this is UNIFIED OS...i have an iphone, ipad, and macbook pro...i love the way apple handles there updates...its usually all at once and everything works together with each other....if this is the route nintendo is going they can take my money now. im completely satisfied with the WiiU so power was never an issue for me. it was always about the games, online, and the intuitiveness of the OS/friends system....streamline and perfect it and im all in
the irony here is that nintendo is fearless. they arent afraid to be different and set the trends. if they go all digital or back to cartridge and they have DRM we will complain but we will still buy it and you can bet sony and MS will follow suit
i agree with everything you said...imo i think the fear is drm and region lock...those are legit fears man
id rather have a system with unique 3rd party support than a system that plays the expected 3rd party annually releases (Cod, Assassins creed, ect.) i will admit i hate that nintendo doesnt get any of the sports games released on their consoles anymore.
no matter im buying whatever nintendo releases because i trust their intentions. they havent let me down yet
this is dope
WHAT!
maybe it is me...i still consider myself a gamer and i play almost all genres but the passion is long gone...most of these games dont feel grand anymore...its all graphics and framerate now....no story or addictive gameplay
cover shooter maker taking swipes at nintendo...how original
the internet has created sophomoric know-it-all gamers. everybody is an expert now going from article to article throwing around claims of frame rates and teraflops and resolution as a way to say this game or console is better than this other one. its so lame. imo a lot of the games everybody hypes up feel like a chore to complete. im an adult so i understand if what im about to say is bias but i havent pulled an "all nighter" in a long time. i use to put many hours into gaming but ...
i think if it was on par the xb1 it would be fine. i just dont understand why devs need power. thats always bothers me when i hear gamers or devs say stuff like that.
todays gaming flaw is not with nintendos approach but rather with developers. devs just dont have imaginations anymore. indie games do well and are usually homages to old school games in one way or another but whats present with indie games is the imagination. you can see and feel what gaming is all about when you play some indie games. you rarely get that feeling when you play AAA titles. sometimes the AAA titles feels like a chore to complete because the hype has wore off and the graphics d...
you know nothing about business or marketing or public relations....good thing you dont have the responsibilities phil has.
thats an excuse if ive ever heard one ...at this point both sony and MS have been in the industry for atleast 15 years so why dont they have any iconic characters that transcend video games?
huh? MS and Sony need iconic characters BAD!!!! amiibo is only possible because nintendo has the characters to do so. nintendo is having a section built for them at universal studio thats only possible because they have the chracters and worlds to do so. when you ask an older person about video games they know who or what mario is. sometimes they ignorantly call all video games "nintendos"....SONY and MS are doing fine without the characters but to say they dont need them or that ha...
if nintendo wants to blow us away give "break the target" DLC for smash along with the ballot characters and give us dedicated battle stages for mario kart...we wont need a new smash or mario kart for NX if you keep the DLC we want coming
nintendo is fine how they are as far what games they make...they just need to open up the options. if they get rid of region lock and bring the online experience up to the industry standards there really wouldnt be anything to complain about. nintendo has no control over 3rd party devs making games for them or porting games to their system so if i were nintendo i wouldnt worry about it.
in my opinion pc ps4 and xb1 are way too similar. all the 3rd party games come to all 3 in most cases so in the end owning two or more of those platforms is like buying a console for one or two games...excluding handhelds, a nintendo console and one of the 3 aforementioned consoles should cover most if not all the worthwhile games to be released per gen.
you can always buy any console you missed late in a generation at a reduced cost to play the handful of games you might of mi...
