"Once again I didn't say anything about all gamers being 'critics'. I said critics are just glorified everyday gamers."
Either you're about 16 years old or you really are this ignorant (or both). Either way, I'm not going to dignify that with a response.
"You can't see it too, bad reviews have little to no negative effects on sales anymore."
Also completely and entirely wrong. Every analyst in the...
More insulting, ignorant stuff. You have no idea what it takes to review a game. It's not about gaming "skills;" it's about a broad knowledge of the industry.
I can write you a review of anything, because I can have an opinion on anything. Doesn't mean I'm an expert. I can tell you what sort of flowers I like in a garden, what dish I like at a restaurant, or what my favorite painting in a museum is. Doesn't make me a qualified gardening, res...
Because the people reviewing them aren't "random" individuals. They're supposed to be professionals (even though not all of them are).
I know gamers love to think they can all be critics, that it takes no skill at all, etc, etc, etc. It's not only grossly inaccurate, it's insulting.
Uh...what's in Salt Lake City?
PS2, SNES, PS1...after that I don't care.
Absolutely not. The PS4 eked out narrow margins of victory in the US in March and April.
Actually, several analysts expect Microsoft to un-bundle Kinect later this year. It's the only way they can pull even with Sony's price for the PS4 because cost-wise.
Even if Sony drops the price of the PS4 - and they won't respond immediately because they never do - having the Xbox One at the $400 price point will automatically generate more sales.
Yes, my article is indeed based on the assumption that Xbox One HAS to fall in price for MS to rec...
Heisenburger: It just proves the other point I made in my article...people get really pissed when you ask them.
I love how I can always count on the inherent hostility at N4G to prove my point for me.
I can't understand why there can't be a civil debate concerning the exclusives for each platform. I think it'll be PS4, too, but I'm not about to bash the Xbox One into oblivion for no reason.
Saying "obviously, gamers don't like the game" makes zero sense, as Call of Duty is basically the most popular game franchise of all time.
And random users are not qualified critics. I know everyone likes to think that reviewers don't know anything, and every gamer on earth thinks he or she can be a critic. It's not true, and it never was true.
You can try to hide all you want, and act like the persecuted put-upon individual.
You know absolutely nothing about critics, you know nothing about how to review a game, and yet, you seem to have a lot of self-righteous assertions about what they should and shouldn't do.
You're the only one who has attacked anybody; I'm merely defending myself (and defending those who work so hard to serve YOU) from rampant, insulting ignorance.
How the hell did I write it?
I've got nothing to do with that site. Being a critic, I know what they're talking about. You, on the other hand, demand that they all finish every game they complete, and NOW you're saying they shouldn't get the product for free to review.
Awful lot of lecturing from someone - like most other egotistical, self-righteous gamers - who has never actually worked in the field. Yeah, that's right: Make the VOLUNT...
Spoken like someone who has never written a review for anything other than a very small source.
Nobody assumed they "know it all" because they're a professional. That's an asinine conclusion based on the article. It speaks volumes to your ignorance when you say, "just hire more people." Yeah, it's just that easy. Maybe in the world of volunteers but not in the professional business world, no.
Employees have deadlines to hit...
Wow. 70 comments that prove the author's point.
Either nobody read the article (likely), or they never read much in the first place, so they missed the entire point.
At no point does the author say he WANTS unskippable cut-scenes. At no point does he say cut-scenes SHOULDN'T be skippable. He was making a point concerning the general REACTION to not making them skippable. The same hostile, freak-out reaction that sees people here calling him in an ...
Or how retarded it is that people write comments to articles they never actually read.
If Uncharted 4 comes out this year, Titanfall is NOT the most anticipated game of 2014. Nor will it be the best.
LOL
So that's it? I give you a giant sheet of facts and you ignore it because you think I "hate" Microsoft? You asked for links; I gave you dozens via the Wiki page. The fact that there's a Wiki page for the RRoD is funny (and conclusive) in and of itself.
The 360 user base? Really? Gee, I know a lot of gamers and I can't think of a single one who didn't go through at least THREE. Now, I don't like mentioning that because b...
Everyone from GameSpot to Kotaku reported on the 30-35% failure rate of the Xbox 360 numerous times. Not my problem if you have selective memory. But if you need a refresher, here-
http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...
Personally, this is my favorite part:
"Microsoft has never officially released any information indicating the true cause of the problem." ...
The 30% failure rate comes from the OFFICIAL REPORTED DEFECTIVE RATES from the five biggest retailers in North America. That's where it comes from. It was verified several times over.
Microsoft would never acknowledge it because they LIE TO THEIR CUSTOMERS. Example: "We have no idea what's causing the RRoD." Three years later- "Oh, it's fixed now."
Yeah? Must've known what it was to fix it, right? And why wait three y...
You know why all game journalists get up in the morning to serve the gaming public?
People like you.
...oh, wait. I got that backward. People like you are the reason we want to QUIT serving the gaming public. Now I remember the way it goes.
Hostile, ignorant, and hateful. You wanted to hate it before you read it, wanted to hate the author before you read it, and made conclusions like "doom and gloom" even when "For Now"...
