I think it is totally optional. Those old rumors stated that it just adds an extra guy to the game. Kind of like how it is in halo and whatnot.
These screens are confirming the ice planet setting and almost all of those rumors. Those rumors stated that co-op is optional and that it won't affect gameplay at all because when you don't have a co-op partner, the computer doesn't take over like that idiotic Sheva in RE5. This could be good if it is indeed, done right.
I miss the old Ghost Recon's. I skipped this one, strayed too far from the source material for my tastes.

Apparently there are human enemies as well in certain parts. Will be cool to change the gameplay up some. I can imagine there being tons of military or armed humans in parts of missions and buttons or whatever that you can press to unleash the Necro horde against them. That would be pretty fun.
I'm just glad these bonuses are just skins and not extra weapons or maps.

$50, not too shabby. $75 of content for those who don't have Karkand and $60 worth of content who do have Karkand (when you put the prices of the upcoming map packs together).
I liked it, but it was no Splinter Cell game. Also, what was that bad with Double Agent? The SC gameplay was still there and the last gen versions were amazing, and the current gen version was still pretty good. I didn't care for the regen health but it was still a "true" SC title.
What did they do? Lose their stock image of the UN and did a quick google search?
I'm really loving how everyone disliked Conviction. Glad to know that I'm not the only one.
Who in their right mind liked Conviction as a SPLINTER CELL game? It was fun, sure. But I can get third person shooting from other titles. If I play a SPLINTER CELL I want stealth, non-lethal options, ability to sneak past guards, I want to lockpick, I want NIGHT VISION, THERMAL VISION, EMF VISION....not sonar vision. :3
Conviction should just be its own franchise starring Sam Fisher and restart the SC series with a new agent. That'd be good....but will never happen :(
If they do end up having to sell, I would hope Zenimax would purchase them or Take-Two.
