The only thing that i anticipate on Microsoft's e3 is Bioshock 2 and Mass effect 2 showings and maybe a little Halo Wars to see how that works out too.
You are looking at this in bad way , they're basically trying to point out they don't wanna pull an EA and sell 2 millions cause they know it'll sell. Like most other devs , they wanna do something different and challenge themselves by getting the good factors of games and apply it to their games.Uncharted devs did the same.
They probably used the wrong choice of words but then again people are boycotting this cause they don't like 50 cent , fair enough, I prefer games that deli...

IMHO. It's a great idea.
It would mean companies that don't want to release a demo (like UT3 or possibly demo's that were in psday or the upcoming e3 o8) wouldn't mind to make a bit of money for a bit of demo effort.
