Why? Sony will be there as in having booths on the show floor- they did last year. They simply wont be having a keynote press confrence. They will instead host their own press confrence certainly there is one on feb 12th there may well be others planned later in the year and I'm sure the december event they didnt hold last year will happen this year aswell.
Zelda and the switch are a totally different situation compared to this; it was one title and almost no one had a Wii u anyway. There is a distinct difference between abandoning hardware at end of a gen and having next gen only exclusives. It's more about support for the OS and patches etc

Erm what? High level execs leaving? Not above the normal rate of staff turnover no. As for developers one dev does not a game make it's the directors and writers that forge a game and developers usually move about between companies and consoles all the time.
@nucky64- they have often taken a loss initially to build install base and make money off software. Expect to see them go this route again for first 1-2 years. They will sell at a slight loss and once someone has bought 2 games be back in profit. I reckon.
12th of february is playstation meeting event used to announce ps vita, ps4 and ps vr details. So seems reasonable to assume it is for ps5. This was announced in october.

I mean year on year ps4 outsold the 360. It came out a year later and was kneck and kneck bot to mention the 30% fail rate on early box's that ms refused to cover so alot of people had to rebut their consoles. Everyone inwas at school with at the time that got an xbox (most people) had to buy 2 or 3 of them across the generation. No reason not to believe that was not fairly common .
Sony and microsoft have a contract signed to work together on game streaming and sony is going to be using Microsoft's servers to run ps now. Microsoft doesn't want to beat sony or eradicate them. More ps5's sold will mean more money microsoft makes.
