Reason why is because the PS4 is a new console and therefore harder to pirate for than pc, plus even if it was hacked who is going to be willing to burn/download such a large game...

Sony Owe a big chunk of the Ps3's success to the eu and to japan, when us gamers weren't even looking twice at the machine we bought it as we had the ability to look forward (something the american market seems to sometimes lack when it comes to buying products) so tbh EU and Japan should be first, after all from day one we've got crappier service than america know the bible said to go after the 1 missing flock it's outdated idea now and certainly not one for businessmen that...

HAHAHAHAHA look basically Films with over muscled space marines shooting stuff have existed for decades, and those warhammer games and the actual pieces existed long before Gears (I used to know people that collected them-I never did understand why?) And that's not the only thing about it that makes it stereotypical...

8GB of GDDR5 ram-even bethesda can't fuck that up surely?

At this point can I please point out the EYE TOY EXISTED YEARS BEFORE KINECT WAS ANYONES IDEA. So sony tried controller free motion gaming 1st and like most applications for kinect have been- they've been gimmicky just as eyetoy games were.

No I want valve and Sony to coexist only slightly in competition, acknowledging they target different areas of the core gamer market and with valve games remaining multiplatform? :P I think that would be healthier for the industry...

They can't upgrade the memory, apparently they'd have to scrap the lot as their entire build is based on DDR3 assuming that those leaks are correct for MS aswell then to switch to GDDR5 would mean having to start over-for one their gpu might not support the transfer rate of the GDDR5 as it doesn't need to, that alonwe would limit the effectiveness of redoing the RAM with such a barrier to cause the bottlekneck would be rediculous not to mention wouldn't work anyway....

Microsoft could concievably make it harder for steam to function on windows and that would destroy a large portion of it's userbase. It'd be hard todo but not impossible and a right dick move but if they made life as hard as possible to be used on windows 8 or whatever comes next seeing as gabe as spewed anti windows 8 stuff already :p #what I wonder is if valve plan to make games like the inevitable half life 3 multiplatform or only on steam/steam box? Also steam box isn't going ...

they'd have to delay it is what I'm saying so they could but I can't see them delaying their consoles release date especially when you consider that outside of the usa the Ps3 has outsold the 360 time and time again- it'd be a big risk that statistically would be unlikely to give them any major benefit fo their TV apps etc hmm?:p

Hmmm thing is although I consider the leaked specs of the nextbox to be pretty much known (multiple sites have seen the documentation, the guy that leaked it was raided and had all his tech confiscated under court order-I'm assuming from MS?) So most of that will be finalized if they aim for a pre xmas launch-the peogple talking about last min RAM changes to 360- well that's very different to redesigning your GPU etc. At this point I don't think MS can realistically even switch to...

sobekflakmonkey thank you :p and @Firefwy-the pcs they use for the tech demo's likely have the bare minimum installed on them and haven't been used for anythingelse I doubt you can compare them to one that actually get's used in someones home for various games and the internet etc...

How much did the PC running the tech demo cost- enough said; and was it running say windows in the background like most peoples pc's will be...

yes, it demonstrates sony's ability to support the console with AAA software exclusives :p

And as most of the rumours have been correct :)

Hahaha that is a good point, if it's under $600 I consider it worth the money :p and there's no way in hell sony will risk going that high unless they are suicidal... I'm thinking $400-$500

Yes, yes, Yes it most certainly will be :D

Also to add in to the discussions above-Sony already said there would probably be more shows than just E3 and gamescom and tgs still to come, and that they'd shown very little about the ps4 so far- so whatever microsoft do they could find sony coming straight back and revealing new stuff that counters it; that's why sony didn't show more is my bet. Also Yoshida has said pretty much every sony 1st party studio is working on something for ps4 which means a hell of alot of exclusive ...

i expect $499 that would make more snese and the other specs are inline with the 8gb GDDR5 ram :) I mean the gpu alone has to be able to support the speeds that offers.

God I hate that type of lag, it really pisses me off- i think it might be worse than the jumping around the map type -_-
